Match report by Colin Phillips
It is a sign of the excellent squad and team spirit that Ryan Sturges and his managerial team are building that the Hercules brothers and Karembo were on the bench today and Harry Jones didn't even make the squad. Competition for places is red hot, appearance at training is maximised and the squad is raring to go.
The win against a resilient Kempston was ground out rather than spectacular but this is what the successful teams do - right?
The action was bitty but Tring always looked comfortable. Baileys pace was a threat. Kieran was steeping over, feinting right and going left to beat his man with regularity. Such an occurrence on 26 mins resulted in the ball being whipped into the box - Fitzpatrick collecting on the edge - and firing a howitzer in off the upright to send the massed ranks of Tring fans behind the goal into ecstacy.
In terms of goalmouth action there want much more to write home about. Max Hercules came on in the 2nd half and cut in from the right before firing a drive along the ground into the corner of the net and it remained 2-0.
Tring remain perched outside the play-offs with games in hand and a mouth watering Vase fixture against Fleet on the horizon next week.
